Mrs. Mary Lou B. Powell

January 7, 1934 – July 15, 2022        

 

Mrs. Mary Lou Powell, 88, of Camden, Arkansas, formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her residence in Camden Arkansas after a long bout will illnesses from aging.  She was a devout Christian woman and was active in Rocky Mount Baptist Church until she was no longer able to drive back and forth there.  She then became active with New Starlight Baptist Church in Camden until health caused her to stop attending physically.

Mrs. Powell was born to the late Mr. William Brooks and the late Ms. Hattie Hardin both of Magnolia, and was the last survivor of their children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harold Powell, one son, Harold Powell, Jr., both parents and one sister. 

She is survived by her bonus daughters, Barbara Gale of Dallas Texas and Glynda (Johnny) Scott of Harvey, Louisiana.  Cousins, Bernice Lewis, Mary Ann Lewis, Bobbie Banks, Emmett Brooks and John R. Brooks, as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.  Mr. Jesse Sanders served as an in-home caretaker until her death.

Funeral service will be held at Rock Mount Baptist Church, 8161 Columbia Road 27 S., Magnolia, Arkansas, 71753 Saturday July 30, 2022, under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff at 11:00 a.m. where Rev. R.L. James will serve as Officiant and Eulogist.  A walk-through public visitation will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, Friday, July 29, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Funeral Service will be livestream viewable on the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Website - https://hamiltondavisfuneralhome.com or on the Hamilton-Davis Facebook Page.

Because of CDC guidelines from COVID and the rise of cases, all who intend to attend will be required to wear a mask and adhere to current social distancing guidelines.

MASK ARE REQUIRED DURING THE FUNERAL SERVICE AND THE VISITATION.  YOUR CONSIDERATION AND COOPERATION IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
