Mr. Luther Thomas (Jacob) Satterwhite
April 23, 1931 – September 12, 2022
Mr. Luther T. (Jacob) Satterwhite, 91, of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in Texarkana on Monday morning September 12, 2022. He was surrounded by his family members. He had been troubled recently with some health concerns that had gradually gotten worse since August. He was a very active member and Deacon at Countyline Missionary Baptist Church until more recent years.
Mr. Satterwhite was born to the late Mr. Will Satterwhite and Mrs. Rosie Sanders-Satterwhite, April 23, 1931 in Stamps, Arkansas, according to his children, in his younger years he was a jack of all trades and there was seemingly nothing he didn’t know how to do, it seems that the job he loved most and did best was carpentry. He spent the greater part of his elderly years loving on his children, grandchildren and other family members.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, all of his siblings leaving him the last of their seventeen children and one son, Donnie. He is survived by five sons, Billy Satterwhite of Sidney, Ohio, Jerry Satterwhite, Larry Satterwhite, Rickey Satterwhite and Thomas Satterwhite all of Stamps, Arkansas. Six daughters, Bonnie Cody of Piqua, Ohio, Kathy Smith of Stamps, Arkansas, Sherry Madison of Stamps, Arkansas, Pamela Sharp of Texarkana, Arkansas, Vickie Satterwhite-Scott of Stamps, Arkansas and Christie (Ethan) Dunbar of Lewisville, Arkansas. At last count, sixty-one grandchildren, one hundred twenty-nine great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, Sunday September 18, 2022, under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff at 2:00 p.m., where Rev. Jerry Satterwhite will serve as Officiant and Eulogist with interment at Lakeside Cemetery immediately following the service. A walk-through public visitation will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, Friday, September 16, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
