October 16, 1955 – June 14, 2023
Ms. Eunice Young, 67, of Hope, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday June 14, 2023. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and cousin.
She was born the oldest daughter to Mr. Rufus Young, Sr. and Mrs. Ulysses Muldrew-Young, October 16, 1955. Ms. Eunice was never fortunate enough to have children of her own, but she took a very active role in the lives of all her younger siblings, nieces, nephews and many of her cousins. She received her formal education in the Hope School District and later went on to attend Hot Springs Job Corps where she received her High School Diploma. She went on to receive some vocational nursing training and even followed some dreams to do some modeling and with her fashionable ideas was a true fashionista, developing her own sense of style.
Ms. Eunice loved her family very much, when she loved someone, she loved them hard and there was never a doubt about how she felt. She always smiled and had an unforgettable, funny laugh. She particularly loved flowers and just as she loved them God chose to pluck her from this garden, we call life. She not only loved flowers she was good at growing them. She used her "Green thumb" to become family horticulturist, seeming having the ability to make anything grow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Rufus Young, Sr., Mrs. Ulysses Muldrow-Young, a brother, Mr. Rufus Young, Jr, and two sisters, Ms. Valencer Young and Ms. Easter Young.
She is survived by four brothers, Mr. Freddie Muldrew of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mr. Willie Young of Hope, Arkansas, Mr. Calvin Young, Sr. of Hope, Arkansas and Mr. Lynn Young of Atlanta, Georgia. Three sisters, Ms. Inet Young of Muskegon, Michigan, Ms. Gwen Burton of Muskegon, Michigan and Ms. Donna Burton of San Diego, California. Her aunts, Ms. Laura “Carnell” Muldrow, Ms. Eileen Johnson, Ms. Denise Muldrew, and Ms. Rebecca Faye Muldrew. Uncles, Mr. William McGill, Mr. Robert Muldrew and Mr. Willie Muldrew. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers.
Her service will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, at Rising Star Baptist Church; 1002 E. Beech Street; Hope, Arkansas 71801 at 1:00 P.M. where Pastor James Lister will serve as Officiant and Pastor Deonco Muldrew will serve as the Eulogist under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a public viewing Thursday, June 22, 2023, from the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas. Her remains will be viewable at the Rising Star Baptist just before the service from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. for those who aren’t able to attend or stay for the service. Interment will be immediately following the service at Galilee Cemetery, Highway 67 West in Fulton, Arkansas 71838.
