Ms Benora Box
June 29, 1935-April 5, 2023
Sister Benora Box, 87, of Rosston, Arkansas departed her earthly life in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 5th 2023 at the Springs of Hillcrest of Prescott, AR. Mrs. Box was born to the late Mr. Fred D. Young of Rosston, AR and the late Mrs. Dexter Bazzelle-Young of Rosston AR, on June 29, 1935.
Mrs. Box dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She was a very active church member at New Bethel AME in Rosston, Arkansas, she was also a role model and Past Worthy Matron of Golden Star #359 Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated, Jurisdiction of Arkansas in Rosston, Arkansas, until her health no longer allowed her to be there. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, and loved spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren. She served as a Teacher’s Aide in the Oak Grove School District, where her daughters said all of her children had to walk a very thin line because of her presence. She went on to work at the Sewing Factory where she would remain until her retirement.
Mrs. Box was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jerome Box and all of her siblings except one. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories, two sons, Mr. Geoffrey Box and Mr. Kelvin Box of Rosston Arkansas. Four daughters, Mrs. Ollie M. (Randolph) Jackson of Prescott, Arkansas. Mrs. Deborah (Ivory) Roberts of Hope Arkansas, Ms. Nadine Quarles and Ms. Frances Evans both of Rosston Arkansas. She also Leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Mr. Freddie (Nora) Young of Jackson Michigan, Mr. Jerry Wayne Young and Mr. Terry Wayne Young both of Iowa. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Her services will be at New Bethel AME Church Rosston, Arkansas under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home where Rev. Dansby will serve as the Officiant and the Rev. Al Yarbrough will serve as the Eulogist. There will be no formal viewing before the date of the service but there will be a visitation at Bethel A.M.E Church, Arkansas Highway 200; Rosston, Arkansas 71858 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Interment will be immediately following the service in the New Salem Cemetery; 8030 U.S. Highway 278; Rosston Arkansas 71858.
